Sulabh International participated as an official partner of Sundays on Cycle, organised jointly by FIT India and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.
The vibrant morning brought together fitness, community spirit and social responsibility, with energetic fitness sessions set to Bollywood music, followed by the flagging off of a community cycle ride.
The FIT India Movement, launched on 29 August 2019 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, aims to make fitness an integral part of everyday life. The movement seeks to encourage behavioural change towards a more physically active lifestyle through various initiatives and events. Sundays on Cycle carries this vision forward by encouraging people to embrace cycling and physical activity as part of a healthier lifestyle.
Sulabh International was represented by Shri G. P. Upadhyaya, Senior Advisor, and Dr Sutirtha Sahariah, Senior Vice President and Head of Communications. Also present were Shri Mayank Srivastava, IPS, Deputy Director General, Sports Authority of India, and Shri Sushant Kandwal, Director, FIT India.
A special moment for Sulabh was the recognition of Sabita Mahato as a FIT India Ambassador, acknowledging her contribution to adventure sports and her inspiring commitment to fitness.
Scores of Sulabh volunteers participated enthusiastically in the programme, including children from the Sulabh Sanitation Club. Their participation reinforced a simple but powerful message: fitness, cleanliness and sustainability must go hand in hand in building healthy communities.
This philosophy also reflects Sulabh’s wider environmental initiatives. Since 2024, Sulabh has been taking the message of cleanliness from the mountains to the sea through cleanliness campaigns undertaken in association with the Indian Mountaineering Foundation.
The event was also graced by special guests Ms. Priyanka Shah, Clinical Dietician and Nutrition Expert; Ms. Kiran Chillar, Fitness Model; and Dr Prem Prakash Meena, FIT India Ambassador.
Through its participation in Sundays on Cycle, Sulabh reaffirmed its commitment to promoting active lifestyles, cleaner environments and healthier, more sustainable communities.
