On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Mrs. Nitya Pathak, Executive Convenor of Sulabh International Social Service Organisation, was conferred a prestigious honour in the category of “Social Impact & Community Leadership” at the “WE POWER” Awards Ceremony organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI).
The grand event, held under the aegis of the PHDCCI Women Entrepreneurship Committee, celebrated the remarkable achievements of leading women from across the country. The honours were presented by distinguished dignitaries including Dr Rashmi Singh (Secretary, Women & Child Development, Government of Delhi), Dr Aruna Oswal, Ms. Anuradha Goel, and Ms. Archana Agarwal.
A total of ten exceptional women leaders were recognised across various fields at the ceremony. The honourees included Mrs. Rekha Modi, Mrs. Nitya Pathak, Mrs. Shallu Jindal, Dr Ileana Citaristi, Ms. Monika Saxena, Ms. Ankita Sheel Gupta, Ms. Tanvi Lund Chopra, Ms. Anisha Singh, Ms. Manjari Chaudhary, and Ms. Adyasha Mohanty. In addition, Mrs. Radha Bhatia, Chairperson of the Birla Group, was conferred the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
In her address, Dr Rashmi Singh paid tribute to the invaluable legacy of Sulabh’s founder, the late Dr Bindeshwar Pathak, and commended Mrs. Nitya Pathak for carrying forward his vision and social mission with great dedication and resolve.
Expressing her gratitude to PHDCCI upon receiving the honour, Mrs. Nitya Pathak said:
“Sulabh’s women empowerment programmes have reached approximately 3 lakh women across the country, who are driving change at the grassroots level. I urge everyone to join these efforts and play an active role in the upliftment of women.”
This recognition is a testament to Sulabh International’s unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment, sanitation, and community development — values that have defined the organisation’s mission for over five decades.
