Sulabh International was honoured at the prestigious Swarnim Rajasthan event in Alwar for its impactful work in the field of women’s empowerment and social development. The event, organised by Zee Rajasthan News, recognises organisations and individuals contributing to Rajasthan’s progress in education, health, environment, and social welfare.
The event was graced by Shri Bhupender Yadav, Hon’ble Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, and Shri Sanjay Sharma, Hon’ble Minister for Forest, Environment & Climate Change and Science & Technology, Government of Rajasthan.
The award was received by Dr Namita Mathur, Senior Advisor, on behalf of Sulabh International. A short documentary presented during the event highlighted Sulabh’s pioneering efforts in liberating thousands of people from the inhuman practice of manual scavenging and supporting their rehabilitation into mainstream society.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Mathur reaffirmed Sulabh’s commitment to environmental sustainability, public health, and inclusive development. She also shared insights into Sulabh’s Waste Optimisation Professional and Capacity Building training programme, conducted annually since 2023, which has benefited over 100 students.
The programme brought together policymakers, zero-waste advocates, industry leaders, and key stakeholders to reflect on Rajasthan’s development journey and to envision a sustainable and resilient future for the state.
