This Menstrual Hygiene Month, Sulabh extended its outreach beyond the campus of Gokhul Karpoori Phuleshwari Degree College, Karpoorigram, Samastipur, Bihar, promoting awareness, dignity, and access to menstrual hygiene among highly marginalized communities.
In collaboration with the NSS Unit of the college, awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene were conducted, along with the distribution of sanitary napkins to women and girls in need. The initiative created meaningful conversations around health, confidence, and social awareness within the community.
A particularly inspiring moment came during interactions with school students in the village. The students showed great enthusiasm upon learning that the sanitary napkins being distributed were manufactured at their nearby college. Their curiosity and eagerness to learn encouraged the team to organize a hands-on training session on the production process.
The training session provided students with practical exposure and inspired active participation in an important social initiative. Witnessing young minds engage with issues of health and empowerment reflected the growing awareness and positive change within the community.
The initiative reaffirmed Sulabh’s belief that education, awareness, and community participation together can create lasting social transformation.
