Bhubaneswar: After Bahrain Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa offered financial help to Dana Majhi, who had to carry his wife’s corpse on his shoulders from Kalahandi District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Bhawanipatna, Sulabh International Social Service Organisation has now offered to pay him a lump sum of Rs 5 lakh and Rs 10,000 per month towards health and education needs of his 12-year-old daughter till she gets married or gets a job.

According to Sulabh founder Bindeshwar Pathak, the monthly assistance would be provided to her on the condition that Majhi continue sending his daughter to school.

So far, Majhi has received Rs 32,000 aid from the State Government under various schemes for the poor.
